Remote Connect

Lock or unlock the doors, start/stop the engine (on select models) and more from your smartphone using the Toyota App (on select 2022 and newer vehicles).

REMOTE CONNECT

Simply Convenient

Via the Toyota app, Remote Connect allows you to access a series of vehicle functions from a distance - from starting and stopping the vehicle to the vehicle's last parked location

Engine Start / Stop (Available on select models only)

Start and stop your vehicle's engine from a distance. It's comfort and convenience all rolled into one. Plug-in Hybrids and Battery Electric Vehicles: Replaced with Remote Climate Start.


Door Lock / Unlock

Lock and unlock your vehicle doors from your smartphone and have peace of mind when you can't remember if you locked them.


Status of Windows

Check whether your windows are open or closed via the Toyota app.


Last Parked Location

Locate your vehicle easily through the app when it's parked on a crowded street or in an open-air parking lot.


Guest Driver Settings

Allows you to monitor a Guest driver and receive notifications if they exceed pre-set limits, such as maximum speed.


Smartwatch Compatibility

Pair the Toyota App with a compatible Apple Watch or Android Wear device and use your smartwatch to access Remote Connect features such as engine start/stop and door lock/unlock.


Plug-in Hybrid/EV Features

Plug-in Hybrid and Battery Electric vehicles equipped with Remote Connect include Remote Climate Start / Stop and Charge Management.



Remote Engine start/stop and short range key fob remote start (requires an active DCM) are available on select models only. DCM is active during Connected Services trial periods or with a paid subscription. Waiving your Connected Services will deactivate the DCM.

Functionality may differ based on vehicle spec and electrical platform. Driving while distracted can result in loss of vehicle control. All set-up of apps for use in vehicle must be completed when the vehicle is not in operation. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. To reduce risk of accident while driving, exercise care when using the systems (even with the voice commands) and obey all local laws concerning the use of the systems while driving (as some laws prohibit the use of electronic devices while operating a vehicle). Text and email functions only available on supported phones. Devices, cables and adapters are not included and must be purchased separately. Limited testing conducted by Toyota on certain Bluetooth capable phones for compatibility with Toyota vehicles. Please see your Toyota Dealer for details.

Services are dependent upon connection to a compatible wireless network provided by a third-party wireless service provider. Toyota is not responsible for cellular network discontinuance and will not provide compensation for reduced service availability.

Sometimes the unexpected occurs. That's why there's Safety Connect, offering emergency SOS assistance, enhanced roadside assistance and stolen vehicle locator. Should you ever encounter trouble on the road, using the vehicle's onboard cellular and GPS technology, a live 24/7 response centre agent will soon have assistance on the way.

Stolen Vehicle Locator

Should your Toyota ever be stolen, Stolen Vehicle Locator can help you with its potential recovery. If your Toyota has been stolen please follow these steps:

  • Report vehicle theft to Police and obtain details including report number, officer's name and badge number

  • Contact Toyota at Dial and Call 1-888-869-6828 (24/7)

  • Provide call centre agent with Police report details

  • Safety Connect's Stolen Vehicle Locator will work directly with local authorities to determine your vehicle's location

If your vehicle is located, you will be contacted by the reporting officer.


Emergency Assistance (SOS)

With Safety Connect, you have access to a 24/7 response center that can deploy emergency services with the push of a button.


Enhanced Roadside Assistance (An active roadside assistance plan is required.)

Using the SOS button, you can have roadside assistance sent directly to your vehicle's exact location.


Automatic Collision Notification

Automatically takes action to assist you should your airbags ever deploy or if a severe collision is detected.

Vehicle Health Reports

Request monthly reports regarding current vehicle alerts and more.


Warning Lights

If a warning light appears on the dashboard, a notification is automatically sent to your Toyota App.


Service Connect Communication

Service Connect notifies your preferred servicing Dealer of any vehicle health alerts so they can proactively schedule you in for any issue or maintenance need your vehicle may require.

Service Connect is not renewable as a stand-alone service and requires a subscription to any of Safety Connect, Remote Connect or Drive Connect upon trial expiration. Cloud Navigation

The Cloud Navigation system uses Google POI data and provides you with real-time traffic information, turn-by-turn guidance, over-the-air updates and head-up display integration. The system works with the Intelligent Assistant and can be activated with a wake word such as “Hey Toyota”.


Intelligent Assistant Integration

Cloud Navigation integrates seamlessly with Intelligent Assistant: you can use the wake word “Hey Toyota” to look for a destination, search for a POI nearby, check traffic conditions, weather and more.


ETA Share

With a few taps, you can share your ETA and current location with your contacts.


Send POI from Toyota App

You can look up destinations using your Toyota App and send them directly to the vehicle's Cloud Navigation system. Your User Profile must be loaded for this feature to function.


Destination Assist

Destination Assist can be voice-activated with Intelligent Assistant. Need a restaurant recommendation, or hotel information, or the best local points of interest? The Destination Assist response agent can track down the details and send them directly to the vehicle.



Drive Connect Capability — with Cloud Navigation, including Googled points-of-interest (POI) data and Intelligent Assistant, including Hey Toyota and Destination Assist. Active trial or paid subscription required. Subject to availability of 4G network.

Destination Assist depends on factors outside of Toyota's control, including an operative telematics device, a cellular connection, GPS signal, and the availability of a compatible wireless network, without which system functionality and availability may be limited or precluded. Use common sense when relying on this information. Service may vary by vehicle and region. Registration required. Paid subscription required after trial.
